WetPlate shot with an old projectionlens.

Used an old projection lens to create a image! Shot on glass 7×7″. A lot of unsharpness due to the lens and moving flowers in the wind.

WetPlate Camera test 13×18 cm

Some time ago I bought this 13×18 cm WetPlate camera, I have cleaned up the camera/lens and shot a plate 13×18 cm clear glass.

The lens and camera are marked with H. Malherbe M.Passage Dauphine 24 in Paris. It looks like this camera was owned by the PhotoStudio M. Malherbe in Paris. I managed to find a reference in a journal De La Societe Francaise de Photographie of Januari 1897, the studio is mentioned in here.

If someone has any more information please let me know!

‘Na jarenlang gewerkt te hebben in de professionele fotografie met zowel het analoge als digitale medium, bemerkte ik dat deze vormen van fotografie mij steeds minder bevredigden. Het was onvoldoende spannend en creatief en ik zag weinig uitdagingen meer. Ik zocht naar nieuwe wegen om mijzelf te ontplooien. Omdat ik al mijn hele leven geïnteresseerd ben geweest in oude grote houten camera’s en bijbehorende oude fotografische technieken lag When Analogue meets Digital voor de hand.
Na een langdurige speurtocht naar een klassieke grote houten camera en de chemicaliën die nodig zijn voor oude fotografische technieken, heb ik mij verdiept in de Wet Plate fotografie. Door te experimenteren met deze techniek kon ik terug naar het begin van de fotografie. En omdat dit fotografische proces complex en vol verrassingen zit, vond ik de spanning en creativiteit terug die ik in de hedendaagse fotografie zo mis.’
